Speaking of data centers, have you seen Arizona's letter to Interior about the Colorado River negotiations? According to the Colorado Sun article about the negotiations, Arizona is claiming that its water rights are a matter of national security, in part because of the data centers in Arizona.

Thanks for the great reporting. It is crystal clear that the assault on Western wild lands continues unabated. These lands are more fragile than ever because of climate change. Much of the damage is being done by cattle grazing. Since these fragile lands only produce a tiny fraction of the US beef supply, this form of grazing has never made sense. Continually having to kick cow pies out of the way before pitching a tent was a major reason why I became a vegetarian. Equally nonsensical is building huge AI facilities that will require massive amounts of water for cooling in some of the driest places in the US. When will we wake up??? I'm not holding my breath.
