Jonathan, I’m sitting at my Dad’s house in Fairbanks,Alaska. It’s -11 F outside. The sun might rise at 10:53, if the clouds and ice fog allow it. I’ll go out in the midday twilight and snowshoe down the frozen river, following some moose tracks.
Fairbanks, like Silverton, has its share of wild eyed escapees. Maybe I’ll go to one of the dives downtown and see who I might run into.
Thanks for the inspiration! What did you sacrifice for Solstice!
An enjoyable read - for sure! What happens next?
Thanks for the solstice story Jonathan. I wish you all the best in the new year.

Wonderful! Captures the magic of this place, along with its mystery, and the sense of looming threat over the horizon.
And the sun is returning ...
Great story - sure describes the current world in so many ways.
