Right. No "Energy Emergency," other than a too slow to build wind, solar, storage, electrification and efficiency emergency. Clearly a "Climate Emergency" going on right now and it's not going to be any less so in another generation. Too bad Biden didn't declare that, and too bad his admin waited 'til January to restrict crazed OHV mania, in addition to other things. Trump didn't wait 'til his last month to restrict wind and solar permitting.

My solace is to look abroad. My favorite headline in last few days if from the UK regarding the response to some US DOE nuke/fossil lackey's attack on their immensely successful wind development, particularly offshore:

The insurrectionist legislators of Utah do not deserve their public lands. Oh they love the tourist dollars in Blanding, and pretty much do nothing to deserve them, but insist on the right to drive whatever off road vehicle available anywhere they please, and let their cows forage for free when possible. The oil economy tanks while the chinese spend all their money developing climate friendly power, but the Utah leg is stuck on 1850. Our public lands will suffer for centuries.

The permitting changes seem to be targeted to incentivize more weaponization of vitriol toward liberal environmentalists who challenge these shotgun EIS submissions in court.
