Driving all over Az for a job last year, it was obvious what was going to happen around the chip factory. I feel sorry for New River and Prescott. Anyway, that was far less appalling then the billion percent growth in Queen Creek (we never heard if an actual 100 year plan for water was found but what the heck people want to move there, right?) and more appalling places like Marana. This is a place 100 miles south of Phoenix where people are moving and commuting to Phoenix. Commuting. 200 miles a day. All the highways and backroads to Phoenix already have 5 mile backups in the morning. I'm assuming that it is because of "cheaper" housing but how people can move somewhere like that for a slightly lower mortgage is beyond me. No one will care about water until the spigots get turned off. And of course, the developers probably guarantee highways which of course WE will pay for. Growth in AZ is like watching a slow moving horror movie, but most of us haven't seen the extent of it like I have. We can wish for reality to set in soon but I'm not counting on it.

This is and SHOULD be terrifying in so many ways. How anyone could possibly think this is the time to build another city in the DESERT - are these people really this ignorant - blissfully so, I guess. Just shows our country's educational system is NOT doing its job - perhaps history and economics should be stressed here.
