The OHV battle has been going on for maybe 20+ years? Southeast Utah has literally thousands of miles available to OHV. I recall the number being something in excess of 5,000. Believe it or not, their lobby is super powerful. But there's a flip side to that coin. When I was rangering for the BLM, some of my most respectful groups were the organized OHV clubbers. I successfully encouraged them to police the lone OHV outlaws.

Ya' know, I looked at that photo of Phil Lyman's angry outlaw OHV supporters and I couldn't help but wonder...why the hell are Americans so afraid of Black people? That's sure an unpleasant looking group of antagonistic White men.

There were 7 or 8 couples that went over to Moab for Easter week JEEP Safari from Telluride in the late 80’s. Can’t tell you how many times we picked up a cyclist with a broken bike and returned them to Moab. Then, cyclists started moving markers and signage to screw up the 4 wheeler trails. Fast forward to today and I still have issues with the Tuesday night group rides on CR 250. I was on the board for TREAD LIGHTLY! and the Blue Ribbon Coalition is using the same tactics that the cyclists have been using for years.
