I wonder if these large scale detention centers have planned for limited water scenarios?

At least one major Department of Homeland Security (DHS) / Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) holding facility is currently proposed in Arizona as part of a broader, nationwide expansion. This includes a planned, large-scale facility in Surprise, Arizona, where a warehouse was purchased for a massive, multi-billion dollar, nationwide expansion project.

As I wrote in another comment below - check out Project Salt Box - it shows the sites where there are leased or bought warehouses for detention centers.

DHS isnt publicizing this - but people are finding out.

I've gotten to No. 7 of Teal Lehto’s and Len Necefer’s speculative fiction take - THAT is terrifying! So bottom line, we - all of us - all over the country - have been and ARE so dam ignorant & stupid by completely ignoring the idea that there actually IS a climate crisis. And now we have the orange doodah & his bunch in charge!

And the country of China that our politicians have been so afraid of - well, I guess they actually paid attention! Think the US could learn something by that?

By all means build more data centers and more detention centers.

There is a site that is mapping where the attempted & successful detention centers are located - its help some people prevent them from doing so. Project Salt Box.

SO where is the site to tell us where all these data centers are going to be? I'm guessing it will be harder to prevent those.

Well, I think the bright spot from this edition of The Land Desk is that you've reminded me to make my annual donation to SUWA.

Paving the way to Zebra and Peekaboo could make for some interesting SAR calls during monsoon season. Cars venturing onto Harris Wash and certain very popular nearby aeolian weathering pits still have the roughest flood-prone roads to travel.

Thank you Jonathan for bearing witness, keeping your eyes and our wide open. The bright spots come when our hearts and minds soar upon seeing your photos or think about the landscapes, communities, neighbors, road signs, cattle guards, and the big-little-things that are the Colorado Plateau.

This is a double-edged sword
