Friday Thread: What do you want from the Land Desk in 2023?

It’s your turn, dear readers, to let us know what you would like to see, hear, and read at the Land Desk in the newsletter’s third year of existence. If you already know, jump down to the comment section and give us a piece of your mind! This one’s open to everyone, even unpaid subscribers, because I want to know what it will take to convert you to the financially supporting side.

And yes, I know that some of you have made great suggestions, given me news tips in the past and I haven’t made it to them, yet. But rest assured, I intend to. (Still, it wouldn’t hurt to give me a little reminder here).

And for those of you who need a little more prodding:

  • Do you have specific questions you want answered or phenomena/infrastructure/processes you’d like to see explained?

  • How’s the twice-weekly frequency? Too often? Too little?

  • Are there general areas you’d like to see more coverage of? Or less coverage of?

  • Specific news tips (which, by the way, are always welcome)?

  • Would you like to see more/less coverage of: Mining, renewable energy, water/drought, climate, housing prices and wealth inequality, public lands issues, history, solutions, oil and gas development, ________?

  • What do you feel you can/should get from the Land Desk that you can’t get anywhere else?

  • Suggestions for regular features (like the current Mining Monitor, Aridification Watch, Foto Friday, Data Dump, etc.)

And, just for fun, here’s a video of an explosive-triggered double avalanche at Ophir, Colorado, where the snow is piling up big time. So check it out, then tell us what you want!
