All I’ve got for you today is one chart showing two things over time: 1. Total amount of electricity generated and consumed in the U.S. from 1949 through 2021, and 2. The total amount of coal burned to generate that electricity over the same time. I figure something about coal-burning is appropriate as a blistering heatwave—exacerbated by climate change (and therefore coal-burning) sweeps the nation.
