We all need a little break from the news, don’t we? Yes, I think so. So go get outside and enjoy the weather. And in the meantime, mark your calendars, as I’ll be cruising around the Four Corners in the ol’ Silver Bullet in coming weeks to visit with y’all and promote my new book, Sagebrush Empire. All of the following dates are kind of tentative, given the iffy pandemic situation, and more events may be added.

Thurs., Aug. 12, 6 p.m., Rochester Hotel’s Secret Garden in Durango with Maria’s Bookshop.

Tues., Aug. 17, 6 p.m., Bookworm of Edwards in Edwards, Colorado. Hopefully I-70 through the Glenwood Canyon will be open by then, but don’t count on it.

Thurs., Aug. 19, 6:30 p.m., Fenceline Cider in Mancos, Colorado, with The Gulch magazine.

CANCELLED Wed., Aug. 25, 6 p.m., Grand Valley Books in Grand Junction.

Thurs., Aug. 26, 7 p.m., Lithic Books in Fruita, Colorado.

Fri., Aug. 27, 6-8 p.m., Bluff Community Center, with Zak Podmore.

Sat., Aug. 28, 7:30 p.m., The Book Bungalow in St. George, Utah.

Tues., Aug. 31, 6 p.m., Wilkinson Public Library in Telluride. (With a writing workshop from 2-5 p.m., also at the library).

And there’s still a chance to get in on a special deal before the event. Sign on as a Land Desk Founding Member ($100 or more) now, and you’ll get your swag—a free, signed copy of Sagebrush Empire; a Land Desk t-shirt; and some stickers—with the August shipment (or pick it up directly at one of the events above).
