Back to the bad ol' days seems to be the order of the day. Too bad we didn't get a bunch of closed-loop pumped hydro storage when interest rates were low to make it so that 5pm dam release wouldn't be as valuable.

But with PV and batteries coming on the grid in the SW maybe it doesn't matter. The Ute Mtn Utes and Navajos have planned solar/battery projects which would produce more juice over a year than Glen Canyon.

For those worried about waste and toxics from these, see below for a nifty chart comparing this to the avoided coal waste and all our other waste streams. https://www.nrel.gov/news/detail/program/2023/photovoltaic-toxicity-and-waste-concerns-are-overblown-slowing-decarbonization

While we're making America "great again" can we make cheat grass a little less great?

Jon - you might already be aware of exactly what was put in the BBBill our so-called politicians passed regarding our public lands and national forests. If not, this link lists these disastrous dreams of our elected??? officials. Mike Lee's little part was almost nothing compared to these.
